I am a textile designer and artist from Berlin and Brandenburg. Growing up between the city and the countryside, influenced my work by the duality between those different lifestyles. I wish to bring together plants, humans and other living beings.
Early in my textile-design studies, I began exploring the potential of textiles to reweave nature into the built environment. Since then, I am dedicated to deepen my understanding of plant physiology, wildlife, and human-nature relationships.
I see a big gorge growing between humans and the natural world, and I think it is a downwards spiral. Since we are not exposed that much to nature anymore, our understanding, and value shrinks. The disconnection gets bigger, or even stronger, natural cycles and processes are perceived as disturbing, or disgusting. I hope to create an understanding for nature, value it, and inspire for more integration in our daily lives.

MY TEXTILE WORK

I am deeply fascinated by textiles and love them for so many reasons. And I am not alone—textiles are deeply embedded in every culture and throughout history, making them incredibly rich in meaning and significance.
What captivates me most is their unique duality: they are both strong and delicate. Thousands of individual fibers come together to form a single thread. But when processed into fabric, that thread gains incredible stability and resilience. And yet, textiles can still appear soft and gentle, with a delicate drape. Depending on the technique, they can be stretchy, supple, rigid, or rough, offering endless possibilities.
The vast range of textile techniques opens up a universe of creativity. Yet, within each technique, there are inherent limitations—boundaries that can be helpful rather than restrictive, preventing overwhelm (though that still happens sometimes). I love immersing myself in the technical side, exploring how seemingly two-dimensional fabric structures transform into three-dimensional forms. At the same time, I find great joy in slowing down and engaging in meditative practices like crocheting, knitting by hand, sewing, and stitching—allowing the rhythm of the process to bring calm and focus, and letting the outcome emerge naturally rather than being rigidly pre-planned.
THE PLANTS
I am so grateful to have discovered a way to work with plants. I am amazed by their growth, how they function, and the incredible diversity among them. Since there is so much to learn, it will take me a lifetime to explore it all.
I am also fascinated by the deep interconnectedness between humans and plants (and the natural world in general). I love learning about this both theoretically and through personal observation—especially how much better I feel when the first thing I do after waking up is taking care of my plants.
